At Bijoul, our Jewellery is thoughtfully crafted using premium materials to ensure durability, comfort, and everyday wearability.  Proper care will help preserve the beauty, finish, and longevity of your jewellery over time.

Materials Used at Bijoul

Most Bijoul pieces are crafted using premium stainless steel, primarily,

316L Surgical Grade Stainless Steel   

306 Stainless Steel (used in selected design)

Our jewellery is finished with 18K PVD Gold Plating, offering an enhanced durability and long-lasting colour and shine compared to traditional gold plating.

These materials are chosen for their:         

  1. Skin- friendly and hypoallergenic properties     
  2. Resistance to rust and corrosion 
  3. Strengthen and suitability for daily wear

About PVD Gold Plating

PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) is a modern plating technique where gold particles are bonded to the metal surface under high vacuum conditions.   

Benefits of PVD Plating:   

  1. Stronger adhesion compared to regular electroplating
  2. Improved resistance to fading and wear 
  3. Long lasting shine with proper care

While PVD coated Jewellery is more durable but mindful care is still essential to maintain it shine and finish. 

General Jewellery Care Guide:                                                                                             

  1. Store in a soft pouch or Bijoul Box when not in use.
  2. Wear it after applying makeup, perfume, hairspray or skincare. 
  3. While our jewellery is waterproof and suitable for daily wear, avoid prolonged exposure to water whenever possible
  4. Gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth after each wear to maintain its shine.  
  5. To increase it's longevity, avoid contact with seawater, chlorinated water, sanitizers, cleaning agents or harsh chemicals 
  6. Do not expose jewellery to sharp objects, abrasive surfaces or rough fabric
  7. Occasionally, you many clean your jewellery pieces with water, mild dish soap and a soft brush/ cloth
  8. Some of our jewellery pieces features a delicate materials like fresh water pearls (which are delicate by nature), chains, hooks, or intricate design. These require extra care to prevent breakage. Handle them with caution and avoid rough handling or pulling.

Water Exposure and Daily Wear

Bijoul Jewellery is designed to be waterproof and suitable for daily wear. However,

  1. Avoid prolonged or repeated exposure to water
  2. Always dry your jewellery thoroughly after contact with moisture
  3. Do not store jewellery while damp.

Reducing unnecessary water exposure helps in extending the life of the PVD coating.

Cleaning Instructions:

  1. Gently wipe with a soft dry cloth after each wear.
  2. Avoid using liquid cleaners, polishing cloths with chemicals or ultrasonic cleaners
  3. Do not scrub or rub aggressively   

Regular gentle cleaning helps maintain shine and removes everyday residues

Important note: we do not provide any guarantee or warranty or repair services.   

  1. Slight variations or changes in colour or finish over time may occur depending on usage and care.
  2. Slight natural variation in pearls are normal and add to their unique character.
  3. Any damaged caused due to improper handling, exposure to chemicals or genearl wear and tear is not considered as a manufacturing defect.
